Hello,

I have a Nikon D700, 24-70 f/2.8, 105 Macro, 50mm and a fisheye.

Im looking for a messanger style bag, that is built tough.

I bought a F-Stop ando 18, and it dosent work quite rite for me.
http://fstopgear.com/product/mountain/ando/18 (external link)

I do like how buch room it has, and the fact that you can secure it with a waist band.

Im thinking about the new Lowpro Urban reporter 250
http://www.lowepro.com/urban-reporter (external link)

But im not sure as it dosent look that weaterproof.

Any other suggestions.

Looking at under $225 USD, and Black in color.

Thanks,
I have thought about them.... just not sure if a 30 would be too big, it looks like a 20 would be too small.

F-Stop District 15 would fit the bill perfect... but they are out of stock, and have no estimate on when available.

Anyone know somthing like the District 15?

I use a ThinkTank Retrospective 10. I carry a flash and 4 B+W filters in the front pocket.
In the main compartment, I either use 2 dividers to carry a 5D2 with 24-105 attached, 17-40, and a prime lens. I also configure it with just one divider and carry the 5D2 with a lens attached and a 70-200 f/2.8.

I think the 20 is good enough. I'm in the process of reviewing the ThinkTank CityWalker 20. One lens can be attached to the camera, another lens in one section and the 50/fish in another section.

The way I think of fit, its always better to be slightly bigger since your bag can adjust with new gear. It would be a pain to have to buy a new bag every time you get new gear and outgrow it.

I loved the Retrospective but a heavy bag compared to the CityWalker. Ended up selling my Retro10. Plus, I was starting to outgrow it too.

Take a look at the Kata PL-LT-317 Sling (external link)

It's not a messenger but it's far more versatile and is extremely rugged, well padded, highly rip, tear, and weather resistant, it also comes with a rain cover. It has left and right side compartments that can fit batteries, lens pens, cell phone, an iPad mini (or similar), remote timer / shutter release, note pad, maps, etc. It's very light, comfortable to carry, the top compartment can be opened from either end, front or back, via very easy to use double zippered pull handles, and best of all you don't have to remove the bag to access all your gear. It also meets all of your stated requirements above. The price is around $110 but don't let the low price fool you this is a fantastic bag at very good price.

The Snoop Camera Messenger bag might fit your needs. The medium sized version with the camera insert can handle all of your equipment and then some. I have one myself use it the most of all the bags I own. Timbuk2 allows you to customize the bag's design in any way you'd like which is a nice touch.

Dear SUPRA8903,

I had the same thoughts, but in reality the Think Tank CITY WALKER 20 is deceivingly & surprisingly accommodating!!
http://www.bhphotovideo.com …_Citywalker_20_Black.html (external link)
It is refreshingly both a carry & shooting bag.
The most contouring, well utilized bag(goes with me everywhere), with the most comfortable shoulder strap of any bag I have ever owned. (please don’t ask - it is like asking a girl her age).

To give you capacity perspective, my Think Tank CITY WALKER 20 (black) comfortably holds:
INTERIOR:
Main compartment-
Canon 5DmkIII with mounted 24-70f2.8L mkII
70-200 f2.8L IS mkII
16-36 f2.8L
85 f1.2L
Speedlight 600EX-RT in its OEM case
Manfrotto table top tripod with head

Pocket-
Usual photography misc stuff including
Lens cleaning cloth & brush
4 AA rechargeable batteries
Business cards
Pen
Paper
Flashlight
A few misc strobist clamps
Band-aides
Mints
Etc.

EXTERIOR:
Front flap-
Rogue Flashbender-large
Rogue Flashbender - small
Rogue Diffuser- large
Rogue Diffuser-small
Rogue Gel rectangular set
Velcro strips for speedlight mounting to objects
A few clear dry cleaning bags for subjects (or bride or groom) to sit on

Right End pocket-
Rogue Grid with Gel circular set

Left End pocket-
Stainless Steel water bottle.

The CITY WALKER 20 bag prepares a strobist, ready to handle the majority of application one could ever encounter, easily and quickly, without fumbling nor without having to put the bag down.

If you need to hold more from a shoulder bag, or two cameras (both with mounted lens), while still keeping it manageable then suggest the Lowepro MAGNUM 200 AW:
http://www.bhphotovideo.com …gnum_200_AW_Shoulder.html (external link)
(which is modeled after an industry standard established from the 1970’s - the Lowepro MAGNUM Commercial AW).
This is built tough and you will wear out, have grey hair or no hair before this bag ever wears out – extremely durable!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I own all three of these referenced bags (Think Tank CITY WALKER 20, Lowepro MAGNUM 200AW, & Lowepro MAGNUM Commerical AW) all with extensive field use.

I can without a doubt, highly recommend both currently available shoulder bags…
You want super light-weight then go - Think Tank CITY WALKER 20
You want kick-butt tough then go Lowepro MAGNUM 200AW

Just one view…
however, only you can determine your own specific needs and intended photographic applications.

Good luck.
