I'm tall and when I use my tripod I often have to lean over uncomfortably. I wish I could stand up straight and use it. Or if the camera is in an odd position it would be much easier to see the screen. http://www.pbase.com/goldbough

I would think with the dual pixel thing they don't need to anymore. Not sure why, but call me JJ.

But could this mean that some light could go to a dedicated AF sensor as well as some light going to the viewfinder all at the same time as it goes to the sensor? I think I read there was a 1/3 stop of light lost with a Pentille mirror. Call me Amanda please

It also has the potential for faster and more accurate focusing on fast-moving subjects, since focusing would occur right until the moment of exposure, not until the mirror is flipped up.

So it's the sort of thing that would suit a camera like a 7D II, except for the act you loose a bit of a stop..............drat! I think I might add this to my list of things I don't want then Call me Amanda please

I'm somewhat tall 6'2" with a bad hip that makes it tough to knee down or lay down for some shots and I still wouldn't want the flip screen. I'd take the wifi and a remote instead. ---------------Camera, Lens, Flash stuff.. but still wanting more

It uses the same photosites used to record the image. So, you're not losing any light at all. Ah? I thought the principle involved a reflective translucent film that let light through it to the main sensor, but also reflected light to the eyepiece and an AF sensor. So that's why I though there was a little bit of light lost. Haven't properly read up on it yet as it's 05:30 in the morning here and I have had a lot of AnCnoc's finest 18 year old malt Call me Amanda please

Nov 07, 2013 03:50 | #45 I do not want more megapickles, I want less than the 7D had infact. When video was just an added software option that you could ignore then fine, does not add to the cost. BUT IF CANON ARE GOING TO PUT THAT LIGHT LOSING, DETAIL TRASHING DUAL PIXEL SENSOR in the 7D then it is time to buy a Nikon. I am a bird and wildlife guy, I would love to be able to extend my focal length (you know what I mean) from the 5DIII but not one single Canon crop sensor (APS-C) can do it without losing so much DR and adding Noise (over ISO400)... I may as well crop. So video is fine as long as it does not cripple the IQ of stills. http://natureimmortal.blogspot.com
