New Harbor have sold thousands of YongNuo flashes alone and I've never heard a complaint, and that's even going back to when YN flashes had a terrible failure rate.

I haven't heard any complaint with the V850 or Godox flashes either.

I would personally prefer to pay more for better service, but not everybody can afford this. New Harbor, and companies like YongNuo themselves, have never been the absolute ideal, but they offer a lot for a price. And Amazon has helped a lot to avoid there being winners and losers.

More than likely what has happened with the softbox and S-bracket is that New Harbor expected an order promised from Godox, which has then been delayed for whatever reason. NH would be waiting on them as well but have to cancel the orders at some point if the stock doesn't arrive.

Still doesn't bode well when they make up a story about products being damaged in shipment due to USPS multiple times, and to multiple people. And the fact that they still posts the product as "in stock" at Amazon.

My two V850s arrived yesterday from New Harbor (two-day shipping with Amazon Prime) so now I'm just waiting for the triggers...

They're still over $100 from what I see. Can't imagine they sold out that quickly. I check multiple times a day, including a couple times earlier this morning. Did I miss it? Link?

Just received my CL-850! What a beast! I may have to order another to compliment my 180's and 360's. The recycle times are incredible.

Anyone else experiencing terrible range with these and the FT-16s? I have the neewer version and I just am not getting reliable triggering and further distances. They state a range of 50 meters, but at 35 meters I get 100% firing rate, at 40 meters I get 90%, at 45 I get 67%, at 50 meters I get 50%...which honestly sucks imo. That was with playing with there different channels as well.

I just picked up a Cell II in hopes of extending the range (it states a range of 50m), but quick observations show that is actually worse than the FT-16's.

Actions spots stuff (mainly skiing). In fact, I honestly find 50 meters really on the weak side for my needs.

Just finished up some more testing - tl;dt - the the Cells II did not add any range and in fact felt a bit worse in terms of range. the conclusion here is that unless you need HSS, don't bother with the Cells II...I am going to see if I can return mine.

Now here is a bit more detailed analysis. I won't claim that my number are super accurate and I am using the distance scale on google maps, which might not be dead on, but it give you an idea of how the FT-16s work (or at least how they work in my neighborhood).

IMAGE: http://i.imgur.com/oaumeoU.jpg

The scale is in feet. The white lines at the 50 meter limit of the FT-16s and the 100 meter limit of the Cells II.

I had three V850's (technically neewer) flashes set up on a lightstand that is indicated by the dot on the left. I would walk away from the flashes and take several shots about ever 10 feet. The middle dot is where the triggers start to become inconsistent at around 155 feet...slightly under the rated 50 meters for the FT-16s and drastically under the Cells II. By the last dot the flashes would fail to fire.

But this is where things get weird...these triggers just seem so finicky. If I held the Cells II in my hand and just used the test fire button, I could only make it about 20 feet before it completely stopped triggering. At further distances I found that if I kept my camera at my side and pressed the shutter, nothing would fire, but when I hold up the camera to my face no problems. At distances where the triggers started to fail, If I turned the camera sideways or held it out slightly away from my face it was more likely to trigger. Also, when it started it fail, I could stand it one place at take several shots...the first one would trigger 2 flashes, then 1, then all 3, then 1, then 2....you get the idea. I find it very...odd.

I don't know if anyone has some comments on this, but at least someone might find it a bit useful.

I am not sure if they are using wireless signal,
something like 2,4Ghz maybe ?

well, if that's the case,
wifi around the perimeter and some device on locations might be the cause for that problems

2,4Ghz wireless is widely used for lots of applications
