Stay clear of New Harbor. I just bought the FT-16 receivers from Global_omo and received them in a timely manner.

They are all same - New Harbor, Global omo or Standbyon - if they have anything in their US warehouse, you will receive it quickly but if not, then the items will ship from China - and you will not know this until you receive your tracking #

If in US the best bet is to order from a Vendor on Amazon who offers PRIME fulfilled via Amazon, then one is guaranteed quick delivery and stellar customer service via Amazon.

If you are okay with your order shipping from China, then I suggest going the Ebay route, atleast you will get better prices for the same service and ability to dispute via paypal.

Emilyandlilly seems to be a good seller on Ebay and they ship out their Neewer branded stuff out of their NJ warehouse. If its not in stock, then you will see their prices raised by $100 to discourage buyers....

Not the fastest shippers in the world, but I got my trigger from emilyandlilly today. Took a full week, that was the last day of the expected delivery range. For 24 bucks you really cant complain, well at least I couldn't :)

I'm just bummed because the FT-16 I purchased from New Harbor claimed to ship from New Jersey.

That was simply untrue and I'm still waiting for my stuff to arrive. :(

Through Amazon?

They have a history of that, claiming its coming from NJ. And I think they actually ship from there, up until they are sold out. Then they just keep the same ad up and ship them from china.
They eBay vendor marks the price up $100 when they are sold out. But its not usually very long before they get more in. And they are only $24.

I don't know if anyone has some comments on this, but at least someone might find it a bit useful.

Do you use V850s or V860Cs?

The Cactus V6 (external link) can remote control manual power levels of the V860C.

Range is stated as 100m but Brian Hursey went over 200m and the V6 was still triggering.

The V6 also has much better usability for controlling multiple groups. For controlling just one group, the FT-16 transmitter is OK, but if want to change the power of all groups by the same factor, or quickly want to single out one group to see its contribution only, the V6 makes these things a breeze compared to the FT-16 transmitter.

Unfortunately the answer is no. There is no remote ETTL capability (including Canon's RT protocol) with the V860.

My triggers arrived a few days ago and I used both V850s at a wedding last night.

Keeping the power around 1/32 during the toasts/cake-cutting/dancing/tossing, the battery on one of the lights only lasted roughly 500 shots. That seems well below what it should be. Perhaps it just needs a few charging cycles to reach optimum capacity or perhaps I have a bad battery. :(

charge your battery, then measure the voltage on the contacts with a multimeter.

should be around 12.3V ~ 12.7V

if lower than this, the pack is bad. i suspect some cells are not properly balanced from the manufacturer, so they built the pack with one cell with lower charge state, "ruining" the pack. (when one battery reach full-charge, the charge stop, even if the others are not full)

i did 4 holes on the corners of my batteries to expose the protection circuit, so after a few dozens cycles, i can balance them if needed. ;)

also, can be used to restore a "damaged" pack if you know and have any li-ion charger, even something ultra-cheap like this (external link)

just a question, im thinking about getting the b860 (with ttl) so i can control them with my yn622c triggers. are they controllable via canon menu? and when the yongnuo trigger is out with the controls on it, will that be able to control the power of the v860? i will be shooting manual only

other option is the get the v850, and stick with the godox triggers. my only concern is lack of HSS. i already have the godox remote (as i own the ad360).

what do you guys think?

yes you can, you can put the trigger with power adjustments in your pocket and take it out when you need it, and trigger the flashes with the cells 2 for hss

I have a set of 622's a v850 and a v860.
The 860 on top of a yn622 you have control with the camera. Power levels, zoom, auto and manual modes. I had a 70D
you can also put the godox rec. on it and control power levels with it and still have the 622 fire the flash.

With the v850 if you want HSS all you need is a little adapter and your 622's along with your ft-16s will fire the v850 in off camera hss without the cells ii.

sync block adapter (external link)

I bought this one because I liked its features. I am sure there are others that will have the same functions cheaper.
HSS and no cells ii. Just have to use your 622's to fire the ft-16s through the sync block.
