Tamron 150-600 f/5-6.3 VC

That is a lot of reach. I wonder if the AF will be good enough for sports and BIF.

I"m such a cynic. I just don't see a $1500 zoom in this range as having the chops to really produce.

Wonder what the retail of this would be... Interesting to see more of a "Budget" super-telephoto.

If the IQ can match that of say the 400 5.6 + 1.4x TC, and AF is quick, it could be a hit... Especially with the VC

Would be nice if there was a 600 5.6 or 6.3 VC Prime though!

If it's even semi-sharp at 600mm, this could be a popular lens (in the same way that the Sigma 50-500 was quite popular with wildlife photographers on a budget).

I'm glad tamron is doing away with the gold trimming, thought it was tacky as heck.

for 1.5k I don't expect this to be on the same level as the very good 70-200 USD VC that ids priced similarly. I'd love something a bit longer and better than the 120-400 I have in F mount that doesn't cost a bomb

Say what you want. I think this thing will perform decent. This could be in my kit to handle long side of things.

The weight converts to 4.3lbs. This thing will NOT be like their cheaper 70-300x lens. This thing w/ a 95mm has some glass in it for sure

Here is the MTF charts compared to the only other one I see listed the 70-300 VC USD.

Seems like a better performer on the long end.

also appears to have a focus limiter.

The problem I see is that the focus limiter is either full or 15m to infinity. This seems too long to me. I would much prefer a 10m to infinity limiter.
