Just FYI, I finally to around to moving the image sharing thread on this lens into the lens archive forum;

Left this one alone as it's been consistently more discussion.

John Sheehy wrote in post #16710664 You really hope what is a cheap what? Ever here of quoting, or posting a clue as to who you are talking to, and what you're talking to them about? Guess what; the post that you read just before making that reply is not the freshest thing in the mind of people reading your post, or even the very person you're replying to. I suspect deisel47 only read the thread title and none of the 3000 intervening posts, so perhaps believes that Tamron is developing..., instead of has introduced.

There are not a lot of posts / images in it as initially it was overlooked when bigcountry started his image thread, but it's there and could be confusing. Would it be a good idea maybe if those two threads were joined? Edit: forgot to say thank you for moving the thread to its proper place! ![]() and merged, thanks for the heads up. Did not see the other thread. GEAR LIST

My thoughts?? Well, I have none.Mounted it on my 7d ( my 5d3 is in for repair) and immediately the lens was hunting and the USM was squealing when it went to infinity or minimum. Sending it back for a refund...just dont fancy taking pot luck with another copy.Shame really ![]() And what would you do if you received a 100-400L that did the same/similar thing (and yes, this is possible with a Canon L lens)? Would you send it back, and give up? Kel

Of course any lens can be DOA, or fail soon after. My Flickr page - https://www.flickr.com/photos/86957042@N07/

This sort of total failure, given the results we have seen with this lens and the same body, is clearly due to a faulty sample of the lens. Knowing what this lens can do, I would be more inclined to try another.
