Just when i thought about splashing out for this lens I hear Sigma have one coming out as well now.

Actually looks like they have two different versions of 150-600 coming out!

Kind of happy my order of this lens was taking so long to ship. I canceled it so I can see what the Sigmas are like first.

You may have an even longer wait, then.

Could be, but I waited longer for the Tamron than I cared to. Longer than I did for my Sigma 35A for instance from the time it was anounced. I'll struggle along with my 400l for a while to avoid buyers/waiters remorse.

But then it's not f/2.8, it's f/6.3, which is slower than the Tamzooka is up to 400mm, and the same at 600.

Wouldn't it be f5.6....assuming they work the same way as the Canon TC's.

Oops, math error on my part. You're correct, f/5.6. Which is what the Tamzooka is up to some point past 400 (it/s 5.6 at 400).

Yeah, but it's never f/2.8...

And it can do 168-420mm and f/4 with a 1.4X.

By using the lens without TC, or with 1.4X, and 2X TC there's not a focal length where it would be slower than the tamron

Heya,

I've had the Tamron since release.

I'm still very pleased with it.
