The reason for the lock even if having low security?

Small finger will not get themselves into trouble by managing to open a case and then have a costly accident.

I bought a lens with a case aand no keys. A local locksmith made me two keys for around ten dollars. That was after Canon told me they don't do replacement keys. The locksmith did't have two identical blanks so one is stamped Harley Davidson and the other is stamped Alpha Romeo.

If/when you sell it, you can put an orange stripe of vinyl around the lens and case and sell it as a "Harley Davidson edition." profit.

I hardly ever use my case, and have never locked it. In fact it has only been used to ship the lens.

One of the other posts on this site provided a link to the solution with pictures at http://www.birdforum.net/showthread.php?t=186763 (external link)

"The blank is an HD1 from the Harley Davidson set"

I found the following blank with a search. I've not done this myself so I can't confirm this is the right blank.
