So would I but I don't get to pick & choose my clients. Then again, my goal is for you to not have a clue that they weren't just real hot models. ;)

I can hardly wait, maybe soon every marketing agency will just use computer animated images and there is no need for a photographer, model, mua, etc.

Are you talking about clients hiring you for portraits or doing a job for a commercial client?

Both. I take clients as they come. I'm not going to turn away their green money just because they're not "perfection" personified. How douchey and career suicidal would that be!?

I think we are talking about 2 different things.

Earlier I was talking about commercial photographers that hire models makeup artists etc to deliver a product to their "real client". If I was paying for a model for a product shoot I would expect not only a model that matched the size requirements that I asked for but also a model that knows how to pose and get to work. I would want to pick them if it were me.

Sure all photographers will work with any paying client that walks through the door but I was not referring to that. I am sure we all have plenty of stories about how some clients or their family members are not prepared for their photo session but hey they are the client they can do what they want and we have to work with it as best as we can.

Photographers don't always put together the project ie choose models. I might even suggest that they RARELY do.

Well then then if it were me and someone gave me a short plump model to work with I would assume they wanted pictures of a short plump model and that is what I would deliver. I am not sure why we are even having this conversation as neither one of us pay our bills with jobs from high end product/fashion work.

You've never had conversation for conversation's sake?

Heck if conversation had to have meaning, I don't think I'd ever talk to my family. We're just shooting the sh*t 99% of the time. Our homes would be dead silent otherwise.

lol ok

Talking about this did just help to remind me that many great pictures these days have been worked over in post. I don't enjoy working on pictures on my computer but those skills are necessary too.

I won't lie; it's not my favorite part either. I still do it though because my clients appreciate it. Plus the money.

Some people just need to be faked less than others.

I guess that's why models are better looking than the guy behind the camera :D
