I'm looking for suggestions in finding a bag to carry just a few lenses during a job. I have a large bag that carries all my gear, but I'd like to find something smaller/handier to just toss a few lenses in when I'm out in the field.

Is there anything made specifically for this purpose?

Hi STEVE126A,

A couple of options are...

Think Tank HUBBA HUBBA HINEY [Mfr # 228]:
http://www.bhphotovideo.com …ba_Hubba_Hiney_Black.html (external link)
Depending on the application, I sometimes use one of these which are convenient & very good quality (either with the supplied shoulder strap or on a waist belt), for a 16-35f2.8L, 85f1.2L & 600EX-RT.

Think Tank SKIN BODY BAG [Mfr #052]:
http://www.bhphotovideo.com …_Skin_Body_Bag_Black.html (external link)
(rather than to store a Pro camera body), I use for greater capacity:
-capacity of three medium size lens; or 70-200f2.8L IS mkII, medium lens, 600EX-RT + Rogue Flashbender-small + Rogue gel set.
-the retractable zip bottom enables expansion if required on site (eg if say I remove a 70-200f2.8L mkII with TC2X mkIII from camera).
-wear on a waist belt, or with a shoulder strap.
-also has front expandable pocket for such things as Canon ST-E3-RT transmitter for OCF, spare camera battery &/or AA batteries, cell phone, business cards, pen & paper and zip pocket on flap for lens cap, lens cloth & brush.
Enables one to operate effectively, handling most photographic applications (80/20 rule), very compactly and with light–weight. Less is more!

Either option enables you to operate professionally, subtly and without looking like a gear-nerd or commando.

Mary

Oooh; I like this.

I mostly use an Incase DSLR sling (external link); which seems to be just about the same minus the MBA slot (which i just recently picked one up, so I'd like to have said pocket)

I like the Thinktank Change up. It has attachment points for other pouches if you want to add more.

I have a back pack that holds almost everything but when I need to go lighter, I use a tool built from Lowes ($5) with accessory and lens pouches attached. Works great and not too expensive. So i just take my backpack almost everywhere and unload into the belt as needed.

i have a ThinkTank Lens Changer (external link) that I like a lot. If you carry two extra lenses it makes it easy to change since it has a third section for you to put the lens you take off the camera in, then you grab one of the two you brought, rinse and repeat.
