Went out for a dusk shoot this evening, there was a low lying mist across Sedgemoor that was pretty impressive...

I'd love to hear your thoughts on these two and any suggestions on technique at time of shooting or during PP (lightroom 5) that could improve them? Both were taken with a 600D and 17-55mm f/2.8 zoom, pretty long exposure and have had some PP in LR5.

1. Through the Beeches

I have to agree with saea501 on #1, beautiful capture. The colors are great and the detail very nice.

#2 is quite nice too. There' a lot going on in that one the requires some study.

You're off the an excellent start.

Both images are terrific but the first one is almost like abstract art. Beautiful work!

Beautiful work! I completely agree with the others who say these images are print and wall-hanging worthy.

I don't see that much interesting in #1. It's too dark in the upper left and I think it needs more sky on the bottom. I think the composition of the two trunks both equidistant in the frame detracts from the potential of a better shot.
I like #2 better but it seems just too flat and I think a curves adjustment layer would help it both to brighten the sky a bit and add some blacks - basically boosting contrast a bit.

Lovin' #2 myself. Brought to mind standing on the hilltop or a balcony just quietly looking over the scene below, and spending some quiet time slowly looking at everything laid out before you. I actually spent several minutes looking at this one and found it quite comforting.

Nice job, and thanks for sharing!
