My 70-200, attached to the body, fell onto the ground and hit hard on gravel. At least it landed on the light shield. The zoom ring is locked in the full zoom position. What now?? What is the procedure to send the lens to Canon. Do I send it to California? New York? I've been browsing the boards for about 20 minutes but I'm sure someone has a link to a thread in their favorites. They've done at least 6 or 8 repairs for me over the years... I dropped a 10-22 while climbing rocks in Arches NP... It fell about 50' and was smashed. Canon "Replaced mid zoom housing" for $65 and it was like a BRAND NEW lens. -Tom Dragonetti
