Hi guys,
So it's been 14 months since I launched my photography business - yay!
I specialize in family events like children's birthday parties & of course with that comes the family portraits as well. I feel I built up a good portfolio this year but I would love some feedback on my website overall, but especially my opening slideshow & FAQ, which I just updated. I've been looking at my website everyday for a whole year so I would really appreciate some fresh eyes!
Thanks much!
-Sue :-)

Few thoughts, not limited to what you requested...
- Google "SEO" - you really need to work on your search engine optimisation. The page name is the biggest thing in SEO and you haven't done it at all. "San Fransisco Bay Child and Family Photography Sue Choi" would be better.
- Slide show is fine. It's a bit slow as it doesn't seem to preload images.
- You need to work on your lighting and/or your post processing. There are strong shadows under eyes that shouldn't be there, and general processing basics need work. Do you use flash much?
- "I have the right set of experiences" doesn't read well. "I have experience..." might be better.
- Guestbook and visitor count is pointless, as is the pointless plant in the background.
- FAQ: people don't care that you can take photos with a microscope. Tell people what you can do for them, and help them get to know you.
- " As a mom of two young children, I am warm" - lose the comma. I'd have thought as Mom of two you'd be frantic with no free time.

Hope that helps :)

Thanks for the detailed feedback, Tim! It means a lot to me to hear you say my "slide show is fine" as I really respect your work & your contribution to the forum!! Lighting & SEO, yes definitely need to work on them!

Here are a couple of my comments:

1) I agree with Tim. The plant in the background doesn't do anything for you. You're a people photographer, not a botanist.
2) Your slideshow has some blank thumbnails on the third rotation. I would either fill that up or remove it down to two rotations.
3) At the bottom, there is a "login" link. I've seen this before with Zenfolio websites. I think it's really dumb. I'm not sure if you can remove that or not.
4) I'm not sure what the "Guestbook" is for.
5) I don't think you should show the # of visitors and photos.
6) "One Last Weekend of HOLIDAY MINI SESSIONS are left! Please look under Information tab above for details!" on your Home page should read "One Last Weekend of HOLIDAY MINI SESSIONS is left!
Please look under the Information tab above for details!" or something similar
7) Under your "Contact" section, your email is listed as "send message" and then once I click on it, your email is revealed. I think that's unnecessary. Listing your website is unnecessary also since you're already on it.

Hope this helps!

Thanks Hiep for taking the time!
1)Hmm, I kinda like the plant.... will have to think about this one.
2)Oh, that's good to know! I guess I never looked at it for 3 whole rotations, ha!
3)I thought the log in was for my clients who have created their account/login or whatever it is called, so they can access their favorite photos or shopping cart.
4-5)The guestbook/#visitors/#photos section comes with the page. I have not found a way to remove them, just ways to place them at different parts of the page depending on the page layout. Will look.
6)I ALWAYS appreciate grammar checks, thank you!!! I am not a native English speaker so even though I've lived in the US forever now, some of the simplest mistakes are totally invisible to me!

I don't think the plant is too bad but I would dial down the opacity on it if you can. Mainly because it's green and so is the text under the contact info section.

As for the FAQ, the first and the third questions both have the questions aligned to the far left (on top of the photograph) while the answers are both to the right of the photograph. Not sure if this was on purpose or not. Just need to move the span image element up.
