Is owning a Canon Rebel a joke?

Thanks! I always start typing in this "Quick Reply" box which makes it really hard to see what I'm doing. Anyway, you do great work! You can edit my comments anytime as long as you don't remove any of my snarky comments or glaring examples of my wonderful personality. On a somewhat unrelated note (not completely unrelated though since I was just talking about editing), am I the only one that when editing a post and it asks the reason for the edit-puts, "Because I'm a spelling **** and couldn't handle the type-o."? Just curious...

Check it! I just got censored! For a woman whose cussing vocabulary consists of "Dangit", "Dagnabit", and "Blasted", I'm highly impressed myself. Wow, I ate red meat AND got censored all in the same day...I have become quite the wild woman. Ya'll must be a bad influence on me.

Inbred debating on whos camera is biggest, lightest, strongest, fastest, most accurate, most waterproof, nail-stomping adapted, ... it can't go anywhere but downhill at a professional speed. There - I used the pro word.

There was a long time since I saw any wild debate managing to get a couple of combatants to argue themselves all the way to banning, so this forum seems to have mellowed a bit

The strange thing with filters is that they often make a big difference - and they are bought to make a big difference. A grip is only a question of personal preferences, except when having a camera where the grip affects frame rate by access to more power.

After reading this, when I look at someone with a DSLR I don't look at the body but the glass. I guess I am always thinking "what is there vision? Why that lens?" More than "ah a rebel shooter or 1Dx shooter." Like many here have posted. It is not the body that makes the image, it is between the ears.

That said, I don't really get the KISS/Rebel name. Keeping it at XXXD would just be so much easier. You know, there is no confusion right now at all with a 7D, 70D, and 700D.

I can see you listing a filter that was used if you're posting a picture and letting everyone know how you got the shot and what equipment you used to get it but otherwise.. Really? I guess I'm going to have to add a signature and be sure to include every memory card (with GB's included) that I have, how many batteries for each camera-even the knockoff brands, all my filters (even though half the people on POTN think they're useless and degrade image quality- but let's not even start that debate here), my step down ring, my remote shutter release and cable shutter release, all of my camera bags, the allen wrench size and brand that I use to adjust my tripod legs-I mean really, the possibilities are endless. I think I should also get to include my Bear Grylls multi-tool, my mini Swiss Army knife, my snake bite venom kit, my Glock 19 and my Ruger Judge serial numbers, my concealed carry license number, the brand of bear/dog spray that I carry, plus my anti-Walmart stalker-guy spray because hey, those may not be standard photography gear for 99% of the photographer population but when you're a woman who's 5' 4 1/2", 110 lbs, living 3 miles from the Mexican border and drive all over the desert shooting by yourself or with one other female photographer, that IS standard photography gear.

Some filters, like the Big Stopper not only deserves mentioning in peoples gear lists but also has lots of dedicated forum threads. The choice of really strong ND filters directly translates into more or less post-processing, and a good eye can often guess which filter was used by looking at posted photos. UV filters are more commodity products, similar to favourite bag or favourite strap - they either have good enough coating, or they haven't. I'm pretty sure your Glock isn't close to affecting the look of your photos as much as a Big Stopper unless you have an accident and happens to perforate your camera gear.
