I added an SL1 to my 5d3 and see nothing wrong with it. They coexist in my photography arsenal quite well. When I don't want to look like a pro I sling the SL1 around my shoulders. :D

Great post. What ff are you looking at?

Not gonna lie, but that refurb 5D3 looks like an awesome deal. I am still negotiating with the chief financial officer at home to see if I can forgo christmas and birthdays for the next few decades to get it though.

So I might end up with the 6D instead, but I almost have her convinced that if I get the 6D I will still have a longing for the 5D3 at some point in the future.

Lol. CFOs seem o be the biggest kink in the system. I would have a ff now to add to my crop bodies if it weren't for the accountant.

Gentlemen, I've discovered the secret to a free pass on just about all photography gear and I'm going to share it with you. It only requires that you invest 14 years, move 6 times in 12 of those years, be a single parent for up to 14 months straight at a time and for a total accumulated time of over 3 years-the entire time of which you're also solely responsible for paying the taxes, getting the trucks inspected, euthanizing the pets when necessary, taking one of your children to the child psychologist for their "separation anxiety issues" because Daddy's been gone so long, etc., etc., etc. on top of all your other usual responsibilities; And the coup de grâce...move to the absolute worst military installation (just BARELY still) in the US where you and your family are never really safe- and your spouse will actually ENCOURAGE you to buy whatever photography gear you want because they know that photography is the biggest reason why you're not miserable and depressed like everyone else here. Trust me guys, it works like a charm. ;-)a

I change the EXIF on all my camera phone images to 1Dx.

I change the exif on mine from 1DX to 400D so people think I am a good photographer.

Great! We could use some decent country music around here. Frankly, Mariachi is entirely too chipper for me. :-P

That's all? I thought there would be more steps involved... :p

I was feeling slightly inadequate with my rebel until the other day. I found the secret. Attach a white lens with a hood on it and you gather a lot of attention. Unfortunately, I don't want attention...I want skills...and those don't magically appear with a white lens or a more expensive body. If only it were that easy.

I care more about the images I produce with my rebel and don't care at all about the image carrying a rebel gives me. If you care more about your own personal image then here are my thoughts.

Rebel with a kit lens = lame. You won't be picking up women with that equipment.

Rebel with a white lens = cool. The women will be so amazed by the sheer size of it they won't even notice the body it is attached to.

Rebel with a grip and a kit lens = super lame. It's like that guy from school that would stuff socks down his jeans when he went out on the weekend. Yeah...You know that guy. Don't be that guy.

Rebel with a grip and a white lens = mistake. You would think it would make you super cool, but you would be wrong. The added size to the body may actually make the women see the body and now you are back to not getting any women. After all, it's just a Rebel.

:D:D:D

I confess, when I see a big white lens, I'm completely oblivious to the guy's body that's attached to it.
