Trying to figure out how to make my iphone a more useful accessory

- Have loaded the camera's user manual in it
- have loaded the canon app to control the 6D
- this is apart from the usual features like gps, google maps etc, that are useful to use at time.

Are there other useful apps that you use regularly?

Sunseeker is a handy app
Shows sun rise and set times, sun rise and set locations etc.
Snapseed is a fun little editor.
Although I haven't used it in ages, Filterstorm pro is another great editor, almost a mini Lightroom (full disclosure, I was part of the Beta Test when it was first released, and I suggested a few features)

Strobox is great for doing lighting diagrams.

Voice recorder and notes for notes, peoples names, anything you need to remember.

Scanner apps (we use one on an IPad at work for listening to the fire brigade, and I use one for listening to aircraft movements)

You can also load a folio into it ! Handy to show your work off to prospective clients

I think the iPad is more suited for photography workflows than the iPhone. Get Apple's iPhoto for iOS and enable Photostreams on your devices if you haven't done so already.

Apple's iPhoto for iOS is a good program for editing your photos at remote locations. I use it on my iPad for light photo editing while on the road. After editing, I create a Photostream with new photos to share instantly with others. This workflow is particularly useful when I want to share photos quickly (e.g. a family event such as a birthday).

The Photographer’s Ephemeris (TPE) for iOS (external link) This is the best of the best... worth every penny.

CamRanger (external link) This is the "Product of the Year" in the camera accessory catagory as far as I'm concerned.

Satechi Bluetooth 4.0 Smart Trigger (A) Wireless Timer Remote Control Shutter for Canon (external link) Some Amazon reviewers are saying this is hard to use (looks like mostly pilot error or their phone doesn't support BT v4 which somehow is the devices fault - even though it says requires Bluetooth v4.0 all over the page) . If you know how to sync and connect a Bluetooth device and your phone supports BT v4 it works great. I've never had a single problem with it not connecting. I use it often for long exposures, HDR bracketing, Macro shooting, or pretty much anytime the camera's on the tripod. I also use it for the rare times when I want myself in the picture too.

INRIX Traffic Maps, Routes & Alerts (external link) Not necessarily photography specific but I use this everyday and it's great when you don't know the best route with the least traffic or where major road work or closures are up ahead.

Gas Buddy (external link) This can save you money everyday and can save you from a long walk if you're ever out in the middle of nowhere and the "Fuel Low" light comes on and you're not sure which way to go... ;)

I like Endomondo, keeps track of how far I walk when I'm out shooting. Seem to be averaging about 2.5 miles per shoot this week. It's free.

Nike has a new one too, Nike Moves - uses the motion sensor chip in the 5S.

I believe the ability to display photos is a nice feature. I know there is another thread about the displaying/presentation. I just use the built in photo app but will move to a more robust feature app.

Def TPE, but man that guy needs have a sale on that thing! Been years! I bet he'd pick up a whole bunch of new sales if he dropped the price a bit. Especially seeing as how the windows/mac version is free!
