It's not that I'm spending too much, its the fact that I want what is going to be the best fit for my needs, has a build quality that is going to survive the use/abuse of a paintball field, and still provide great looking photos.

Will likely get the mark2 and IS. Would be handy to have the IS.

Thats the best bet if you have the cash, its weather sealed also, unlike the non-IS, but its also heavier than the others. Consider the Mark 1, it is cheaper and just as good as the Mark II, I am picking myself one up after Christmas.
