The 1100hp Crusty Nova

Shane got this car finished up just in time for Hot Rod Magazine's Drag Week, where he did quite well, and managed to wow everyone at the last stop with a 400ft wheelstand (after driving 1400 miles to 5 different drag strips). I took this set about a month ago when he was driving back from a win in the True Street division at the LSX shootout with an 8.637 second 1/4 mile average. And he drove it there, over 450 miles each way, with a trailer.

This "Mutt" has to be my favorite ride of 2013. Any time you can drive it 1,400 miles with a trailer & still pull 8s, you've done a GREAT piece of work.

It's funny you say that, when I was attaching the cups for the rig, he said to make sure I don't knock off any of the dirt! The patina on this thing is perfect; old and dirty as hell, but almost no rust. It was a pretty matte surface finish as well, so it behaved well for my lights.

I got to see Krusty Nova two weeks ago in Noble, OK for the No Prep Shootout at Thunder Valley Raceway! It was a blast! Nice set of images as well.
