Has anyone used a camera mirror lens for astrophotography? Not a telescope like a Cat, schmidt, Rc, newt, etc I mean the lenses with that awful donut bokeh, usually 500mm or 1000mm f5.6 and f8's, and yes I know that they are catadioptrics also. I really want to try one out, kind of wish they made a faster 300mm or 400mm. Anyways if I were to purchase one I need some good recommendations that meet my expectations which include, A VERY good antireflective coating, the stars cannot reflect between the front element and my sensor, I saw on another website where this was a serious problem for someone. My next requirement is that the lens produce flat round stars out to the edge of the camera. Also the focus can be stiff but not loose, it cannot creep OOF while I am imaging whihc brings me to my next requirement. It must focus to infinity! Lemme know if you have opinions on a good one, I suspect the newer cheap mirror lenses have a much better AR coating than the classic mainstream brand mirror lenses of the 1960-1980's.
