Here is my first engagement shoot. Let me know what I can do to make myself better. I'm usually a real estate photographer so this is something completely different. This is straight out of the camera so I haven't did any post processing.

Dead center and cropped at the knees. Feels like a snapshot IMO.

Show us a processed version since this isn't how you intend to finish it.

Agreed. Got to go wider on that shot. SOOC it is obviously very "dead" looking, color wise. Perhaps better shots from the session are available?

I agree with the others it is not a great crop. Either going wider, or going with a vertical orientation would have been better. Having said that, this is not a bad shot, and with some PP can look pretty good.

Thanks for the info. David although I thought mine looked OK, you made it look much better. I'm having a lady who is a friend of the future bride who is a genius on Photoshop coming over to work on the brides favorite pics so I know they will look much better than straight out of the camera. Thats why I didn't do any PP. I will definitely show her what you've done and have her fix mine.

I'm not fond of the green/yellow tint on that edit, but at this point it's subjective.

Thanks for that. I am working on my uncalibrated laptop, which doesn't have the best colors. Looking at it now (even though still on my laptop), it does look to have a bit of a tint!

I will say it looks exactly like my first engagement session pictures :) That being said, it's not a horrible photograph. With time you will learn better composition, exposure and posing. Just keep shooting ;)

Thanks Mark! Tonights the night to do PP. I'll post a few in the next day or two.
