Just curious.

I'm pretty new to the hobby, so my oldest lens is the 50mm 1.8 my wife purchased back in 2009.

I still have my 35-70mm that I purchased new in July, 1987, along with the new EOS 620. Never use either, but I won't get rid of them.

If steroids are illegal for athletes, should PS be illegal for models?

Me too! Ok it's actually my dad's, but we still have it, and I occasionally borrowed his 70-210 F/4 push-pull as well, until I picked up a tele of my own. Was a great camera, it's what got me started in photography.

Mine is my Tamron 28-75 from 2007, when I started....I still have it. Don't use it as much anymore but I don't ever want to sell it. :)

I've owned my 50/1.4 the longest. It was purchased new in 2008.

I bought three used lenses with 2005 date codes. Another used lens lacks a date code so I'm not sure how old it is.

The 15mm FE lens is easily the oldest design. I don't think its changed since 1987.

My 300 f2.8 IS is from Sept 1999 and is currently one of my most used lenses(at least in number shots taken). My 1.4x TC is even older being from Jan 1991.

My current oldest lens would probably be my 1.4x III TC...

My 70-200 II would win, but I tend to replace it every year or two or so when rebates are really good just to refresh the warranty and all that for no upcharge... So my current one is only a few months old. But if you combine the age of all the ones I have owned, I got my first in 2010 and generally have always had one since.

Exactly. Mine is a 50mm f/1.8 from 1987. Bought it for $20 a few years ago.

Look at the back of the lens, there will be a code starting with 2 letters, followed by 4 numbers. The letters are the date code and what factory made it. Match the second letter to the chart about half way down the page here - http://www.the-digital-picture.com …ses/Canon-Lens-Aging.aspx (external link) and that will tell you the year it was made. :)

28-80mm f/2.8-4.0 L from 1988 and 70-210mm f/4 from 1989.

Both work like a charm.

Same here, 50mm f1.8 from 1987 (February)......great find for $20 since they normally go for more then a brand new 50mm f1.8 mk2
