I'm a hardocre Ford guy, but some members of the local car site (heavily GM-based) asked me to come out with them and take some pics, so i gave in, lol. i must say, i had a blast just being out there with these guys.

in any case, here are a few of the 130+ pictures i took that afternoon.

honestly can't tell you much about what settings i ws using except that i was shooting in Aperture Priority... and i think my ISO was set at like 800... all of the pictures were taken handheld, the ones looking down were taken from the top of the bleachers out at the local high school football field.
i was just trying stuff out, trying to see what works. this was a free/courtesy shoot for the site, so i'm not AS disappointed with these as i may have been if it was for a paid shoot.

but PLEASE, comments/criticisms/hints/etc are all HIGHLY encouraged! i don't know what i'm doing with this camera (300D). so please help me out if you can make any suggestions at all! Thanks,

Richard

in the second one, i'd heavily photoshop it.

i'd get rid of the trees, and get rid of ALL the parking spot lines (white lines) and then MAYBE darken the entire ground, see how it looks.

and in the second i'd get rid of the poles and power lines, and a drop more contrast to compliment the red in the vetta's

gorgeous cars, and your shots are really, really good!

keep it up!

also the semitry (spelling) in the second one is great! i'd possibly try and get rid of the numberplates in the 2nd and last one.

cool! i really appreciate your input! your giving me new things to consider that i hadn't previously! and that's a good thing!

i've been tooling around with the second picture, trying to alter the shading of the lot itself like you mentione, and that's fairly easy. the getting rid of the lines is taking a bit of effort though... i'll take another look at it tomorrow though, i'm about to get off of here and get some sleep! :D

thanks again for your advice/suggestions!

It would just be easier for me to cut the cars out & put them on a different background than to do all that work!
Take a look at the "Need to remove a background from something?" link in this thread:
A few Car Lighting Tips
Very nice lighting & interesting arrangement of cars there! Best advice I can give you would be to shoot on "M", ISO 100, & use a tripod when you have a lot of people investing that much time in the shoot. Someone might want a BIG print, & I'm not sure that you have the detail there to provide one.
That's a good start though. Keep at it! ;)

lol, not quite! :D We're all part of a local auto club, most of us are actually in the Air Force, but we all just got together down at the local high school's parking lot since it seemed like a decent place to shoot!

ah, about to say, when I was in school we were lucky to have one LS1 and maybe 2 or 3 LT1s in our whole school.
