Colors of the Season
Here in America we are going through autumn colors & in some spots, into snowy days but I know it is springtime down under. Let's see what colors are popping out in your little spot of the world.

Do not forget to include the photograph's name in the message subject line of your post.

This challenge begins when posted, and will end at 10:00 p.m. Western time Monday, November 18, 2013. Winner of this challenge will be announced shortly thereafter.

Photo Submissions:

1. Camera - Any Canon DSLR Camera
2. Time - any on-topic photo taken at any time is eligible, although photos that have won other competitions should NOT be entered.
3. Size - Please visit Image Posting Rules.
4. Post-Processing - do whatever you like and the host will decide if it works.
5. Posting - * ONE PHOTO per photographer in each challenge.* Photo Name in the message subject line.* Camera model & lens used.* Notes -- post brief EXIF data including ISO, shutter speed and aperture used.
6. Commenting - No commenting during challenge. When the posting is closed and a winner has been declared, comments can be made in this thread.
7. Keep it clean, and both Family and Work safe.

Slight noise reduction and slight sharpening in Camera Raw. No colors were enhanced.

Hope no one minds if I judge this 30 minutes early as I have a cold & am heading off to early bedtime. Thanks to all who entered; you make it very difficult for me to choose a winner because I am one of those people who like almost everything
teekay: the colors are so vibrant it makes me wish it were November all year long. We put on a pretty good show of color here in our neck of the woods & the leaves are about half down now..... but still plenty left to enjoy.
Engineer6: I love the blue on blue tone of this peaceful scene. I am drawn to water, love every body of it from oceans to streams so I find this very appealing.
Kevan, I know you put all this together but it is awesome. The pattern & subtle brown & red tones are so intriguing.
M_six: Love the pumpkin in with the Salvia; gorgeous show of fall colors in a whole new way.
SJC: What a beautiful sunrise! I love the colors & the silhouette of the foreground. Perfecto!

Thanks, Mo! Thanks, everyone, for the kind words. Terrific entries, all.

This entry of mine was a dry collage, a project I had brewing in my mind for a couple weeks, as I was dealing with yard clean-up of the same subject, and walking my dog in the woods nearby. I had posted a series of leaf arrangements on my FB, and sorta became infatuated with the shape of the white oak leaves which culminated into the project you saw here. So with a backpack I walked the woods where I knew the white oaks lived, nitpicked my selection, smiling off the awkward stares I was getting from passersby, and concerned some authority figure was going to approach me about stealing their fallen leaves. Hey...it could'a happened!

Back home, I steeped the leaves in hot water so they'ed release their death curls, and pressed them flat. Next day was the assembly and shoot. By the late afternoon the leaves had totally dried out and returned back to their wrinkled rigamortis.

I'll post the next challenge soon.

Congratulations, Kevan! You certainly deserved the win and I appreciate the amount of effort you put into these challenges while most of us (I think) first try and find an archived shot that suits.

Cool idea, Kevan. I am going to try that tomorrow but with red maple leaves & bright yellow ginkgo leaves

Sadly, I can't find any ginkgo trees around here. They used to be around, they must of moved on elsewhere is all I can figure. Good luck!
