Sounds like they hold their charge well. The general consensus was that the charger you can get with the batteries are junk. Mike

I just bought a pair and a la crosse bc 700 charger but haven't received them yet. Want to try em myself before I buy more. As far as bargains...I couldn't find any. I search slickdeals.net, bfads.net, techbargains.com, fatwallet.com and Spoofee.com all the time for deals on a variety of things. No luck on eneloops yet. Hey Mike, also in Western Mass here as well. The best deal I have found is at Costco. They had a pack that gave you 8 AA, 4 AAA, the charger, 2 C, and 2 D adapters for $19.99. That is the best deal I have been able to find.

As far as the batteries I have found they really do hold their charge well and have taken to replacing all of the electronics in the house that use AA and AAA with them. I also picked up a PowerEx MH-C9000 charger for charging them and that works great as well. Don Hey Don. Great price for all those at Costco. Will have to have my neighbor grab some for me. Mike

Nov 14, 2013 18:09 | #12 I'm giving the Amazon Basics batteries a try. Just ordered 16 for $25. They seem to be equivalent to the Gen2 Eneloops, but I'll know more after they arrive and I've tested them out. http://amzn.com/B007B9NV8Q -- Mark | Gear | Flickr
