Caught this guy enjoying a view of the water. What do you think? I tried to crop it to be like a panoramic. What is the correct size for pano?

That's a lovely shot. I don't think there's any "standard" size for pano. (I might be wrong). This could be a fun project- go back closer to sunset (or sunrise depending on the direction), and "set-up" the shot. Take multiple shots (2 or 3) on a tripod panning from left to right and stitch them together- the results might be outstanding. Unfortunately, your current version lacks some "punch", but the composition is good.

It was quite overcast and gray out, which probably is the reason for lack of punch.

I would up the contrast a bit and play with the color balance to give it a stronger dawn/dusk look.

here's my stab at it... good composition but get there at the right time of day and try it also lighten it up...get rid of blue cast and I added a violet-orange neutral density filter

looking at it again now...all the stuff floating in the water is pretty distracting if you are trying to create a scenic composition...i like the idea a lot thats why I tried to play with it a bit
