Non-breeding because of grey on the back of the head, and lack of a red eye-ring that they possess during breeding season. Another feature is the white spot on P1, P3, P4, and P5 (Primary 1,3,4,5). First winter Ring-billed Gulls will have an overall grey appearance, with a solid black tip to their beak rather than a ring. Unlike the adult in this image with its yellow legs, the first winter RBGU will have pinkish-grey legs. --
