This is one of the youngest craters on the Moon. It's pentagonal in shape and has a very bright ejecta ray system, the longest of which crosses mare Crisium towards the NE over 600km. The pattern of the debris suggests a very low impact angle from the SW.
The area immediately to its west is Palus Somni - the Marsh of Dreams. It's an intermediate geological feature between lava mare and highlands. Its colour was the subject of numerous studies.
Photos were taken at different phases of the Moon, to show the ejecta ray system and the relief.
