Nice series, but I think they are a touch overexposed. Did you do much skin smoothing?

Thanks Scrub and dedlewamp. She has a fair complexion and only minor touch-ups.

I agree.....and her skin does look like it's been worked quite a bit. I can't imagine she would need much.

Nice shots though. I'd think they'd be happy with these.

The compositions could use some work. Elbows cut off in the first 2, she doesn't seem to "fit" well in the 3rd framing - maybe a horizontal composition taken from a different position? The last one needs to be cropped tighter and/or taken with a longer lens or closer to the girl.

Thanks Lady Tori for the complement. I don't have a Facebook page, but below is a link to the entire session.

HappySnapper90, thanks for the suggestions. I will keep them in mind next time, although she was very happy with them. The last one was a request of hers and is more of an environmental portrait on the dirt road, so no cropping needed.

I like this set and I know quite a few people who prefer skin to be a tad overexposed like this... personal preference. I think it works and if the client really liked them, don't dwell on it too much.

Regarding the composition comment, the cut-off elbow bugs me in #1 but I think it is fine in #2 for some reason. In #3 I wish that her boot wasn't hitting the edge of the frame though.

Skin highlights are gone. Probably harsh flash or Post work.

For my taste, these are just a touch too smoothed and overexposed, but Tiger is right - if the client likes it, don't dwell on it.

I did not say a tight crop. But you could lose half of what is below her feet since it is really of no importance and would strengthen the composition.
