I am absolutely so p*ssed with these pieces of crap. It's unbelievable that a company can produce a light that is as nice as the Elinchrom's are, but offer and absolutely cheap piece of sh*t for a transmitter.

Today I had both of my transmitters go intermittent because of the hot shoe contact. They trigger just fine with the test button, but you've got to wiggle, contort, semi-tighten, wish, pray, beg, make sacrifices to the Elinchrom god for the m*th*r f***ers to work consistently, and even then they give me the finger.

I have no problems with any other triggers or flashes in the hot shoe, and I'm talking getting the same problems with 3 different bodies.

Time to start using my Yongnuo triggers.

Elinchrom can kiss my a**.

Well, it's been a slow burn for me. The capper was having both my transmitters tell me to f*ck off at the same time.

Your transmitters are a lot more vocal than mine, all I had to do was insert it properly into the hot shoe (all the way). Yes it's a snug fit, but putting my thumb and pushing it straight in, makes it easy to put in place. If it's so troublesome to get the hot shoe contact in place have you tried just using the supplied cable to go from the transmitter to your cameras PC sync port?

Mine work like a charm unless there's a iPhone near the pack. Maybe you should have kept the one instead of sending it to me. ;)

Skyports are fine until you get out into the real world and you know...move around.

Did you lose Digital Photo Professional (DPP)? Get it here (external link). Cursing at your worse-than-a-map reflector? Check out this vid! (external link)

I've shoved the damn thing in every which way including backwards, no luck to get consistency.

I'm gonna give the PC sync port a try, thanks for the suggestion.

Mine have been ok so far. Apart from the most annoying aspect! THE SWITCHES!!!
You know the one........ the group switch 1-4, where you have to be so precise trying to get to it to click into the number you want. A few misfires here and there too but I got the Pocket Wizard plus III for the Quadra.

I own a DSLR, some lenses and some lights.

I had some trouble with the original models on the hot shoe of my 5D MkII, but found they NEVER fail if attached to the camera via the PC synch port. The latest model transmitter has never given me an issue no matter how I connect it.

that's interesting about the newer models. Other problem though is there lack of range.

Yup, the switches are frustrating also.
