I currently shoot off-camera flash using YN-622C Wireless trigger. I use these with the flash in manual mode & make changes as and when.

I've discovered the PocketWizard AC3 ZoneController, is this compatible with my YN622 & if not, is there a similar product which is compatible?

Don't know which third party flashes worked with AC3 but you can use any canon eTTL flash with AC3. Flash has to be in eTTL mode even when using manual power control. I think cheapest canon option is used 550ex. You still need mini/flex on camera and flex on each flash.

I seriously doubt the PW AC3 would have any function mounted on top of a YN-622C.

YongNuo have their own YN-622-TX, Zone Controller like transmitter coming though (at some point) -

AC3 is proprietary to Pocket Wizard.
As Elv mentions, the YN-622TX will give you the capabilities.

No trigger has ever (I think) been compatible with a different manufacturers trigger, and none is ever likely to. It's hard enough getting trigger manufacturers to retain compatibility with themselves, let alone others.

The only one that ever was was shot down in flames by Pocket Wizards.
