I just bought and returned a new iPad Air because of a yellow color cast
which was especially nasty looking when viewing my images. I compared it to
a version 2 iPad I have and there was no comparison. The new Air had no whites, they were yellowed.
The apple employees at the store who I showed this to said they had not heard of any widespread complaints.
When I went home, I searched and it's all over the net.
I see Apple had this same issue in the past with various versions of iPhones and iPads.
One explanation I see is the glue used to mount the screen causes the yellow cast
but disappears in a few days after the vapors dissipate.
I'm hoping this is true as I never heard of this becoming a continuing issue in the past.
I love Apple products and want the new iPad Air but I can't purchase it
until I know for sure that the yellow color cast will go away in a short time.
Anyone have similar experience with this?

Thanks as always!

Its most likely the same problem the people that cant wait have every release.

Simply.... the glue is not dry yet. Yes. literally. They turn them out so fast, that the glue is literally not dry on the screen yet by they time you get it. This happens every release of ipads and iphones.

Common problem and easy fix... just give it time to dry.

I would believe the glue but some of the users are reporting a yellow to white tint which I would find that hard to be glue because some of the users gave it over a week and still the same thing.

Ehhhhh my significant other picked up an air a couple days after release. I was excited to view some of my newer photos on the retina display. I edit on a regularly calibrated 27" imac and dell u2410. And photos look pretty true on my ipad 2. However when she opened them on hers they were very green/yellow. It was still like that recently. A little curious to read more.
