Lightroom 5 w/all latest updates

Running a Samsung 9 series i5 with 8GB memory
photos are stored on a server running Server 2008 R2 w i7/ 8GB memory

I have noticed when in Lightroom and I open a photo its not clear or sharp light I left it the last time. I can double click the photo to zoom in and then back out and the photo goes back to way I edited it. Anyone know why this is and how I can fix it?

On a PC you fix it by going to Edit -> Catalog Settings -> File Handling tab, and then set the Standard Preview Size to a dimension that is the same or slightly larger than the width of your monitor/screen. For example, my NEC PA241W is 1920 x 1200 so I set the Standard Preview Size = 2048.

I also set Preview Quality = High.

Are you talking about the Develop module or the Library module? If Develop, it is using the original image data from the CR Cache and then writing in RAM the edited version. If you haven't enlarged the size of the cache (in Preferences) from the default 1 GB which is inadequate, raise it to 10-30 GB. If you are space limited, flush the cache frequently (from the same place in Preferences). If the problem is in Library, Bob's advice applies, but I'm not sure if that will solve the problem because it sounds like LR is slow in revising the small preview to show your latest edits and by zooming in you are forcing it to render a 1:1 preview which is then downsized for display.
