This has happened to my SX-230 a few times; what I've done is work a thin knife blade under the inside edge of the surround and very gently pry the surround slightly out. Jon

Thanks for the reply but that doesn't seem to be the problem. There are noe markings (such as a dent mark) on the lens. It's just moving slow.
