My camera fell (yah 5diii and 50L on it) about 3 feet. I feel so lucky, usually my flash is not on it, but that day it was. I had set it down on the desk and shortly after it just rolled back onto the hard floor.
The flash being on it obviously took the impact and thankfully no damage to camera or lens. The flash, I'm not sure how exactly to say it broke but in the bottom theres 4 screws holding on the bottom plate. It's like the plate just ripped out of those screws but there's no cracks, nothing. It's really like the holes the screws go in just loosened and it slipped off with screws still in the unit. I simply removed the screws from the flash body and tried to put the plate back on and re screw the screws. The screws aren't tight enough to hold it now. It appears glue may have been put there at one point to hold the plate.
So I guess i just need to know if I can glue it. I'm afraid to glue it too tight b/c if I need to get in there I won't be able to. But I'm not sure what else to do. The flash still works fine. I just need this part to stay together. I'm not sure about tapeā¦.
HEre are a few pics, Thanks in advance.
