Hi guys.

Is there any way of resetting the camera so that when its turned on its like turning it on from new? Im wanting the date and time to come up when first switched on.

Is there any way of doing this or not?

Thanks.

Remove both batteries for a couple of hours or so. That probably does the trick, although I haven't tried it. Don't see any point, unless you want to fake that the camera hasn't been used.

No it's not to fake anything. I just wondered if it was possible.

I would not be optimistic that the procedure would work, and I only say that because of my experience with my Canon "refurb" 60D. When I received my 60D it had the correct date/time although the time was off by exactly 3 hours from East Coast time so I did a reset of the clock. On one occasion of an extended business trip of about two weeks, I purposely left the battery out of the camera, but upon my return and re-insertion of the battery, the date and time were found to still be correct.

Did you really bother to remove the clock battery too?

There is no "clock battery" in the 60D, I was referring to the main battery being removed.

That's right, they took away the replaceable clock battery in the simpler models. I forgot that, sorry.
