I love film, but I hate the overall cost of shooting it more than digital.

My sister, the professional baker and cake decorator once told me that my camera takes great pics. My reply was that I thought her oven baked great cakes.

I still use film occasionally in 35mm and 645 format. I love film and the cameras that use it - they are so simple to use! A while ago I took out my EOS 33V and my (then) 600 F4 L IS - 36 shots = 36 keepers with Kodacrome 64! Since then I have bought an EOS 3 - what a wonderful camera!
These days Digital rules and I feel it is now "Better" if not necessarily cheaper, that doesn't stop the old cameras taking lovely images though.
1 DX arrived today - err bit of a steep learning curve here and this is not my first 1 series!

Life is for living, cameras are to capture it (one day I will learn how!).

I love the pressure of film, not the usability though. I like the fun of digital.

I gave up film when I lost my local processing/printing facility. Adding 10 days to the processing time killed it for me. Two was bad enough. Digital is instant. Oh, wait. You probably knew that.

I would love to use a 1V. one of my friends has a 1N and it's pretty cool aside from only having five focus points.

I think it would be cool to have an original EOS 1 just from a vintage camera collection standpoint, but if I was planning on doing serious professional film work I'd get a 1V for sure.

I returned to photography when I recognized the power of processing tools in digital.
I couldn't let that go past me ...

I loved my 1vHS, but I'm done with film.

I shot film until digital surpassed the quality of 35mm film. Now if I screw up, I know it right away, and I can spend my money on equipment rather than film and developing fees.

Plus with what you can do in post with programs like LR, it's unbelievable! It spurred a whole new interest in photography for me, just like when I first started. And the 5d3 is a great camera!

there's nothing I miss about film and only primes lenses. I came back to SLR photography when the canon rebel broke the $1000 barrier.
