Dirt jumping

Here are two photos from a dirt jump competition last year,these where among the best of all the allmost 200 pictures i took that day. Please comment...!

a good try here imho they come up better with a bit of ps work curvs contrast sharpen.
i think if you were a bit further back it would give more impacked to them.

agree with stepping back a bit, its hard to see how big the pile of dirt is.
also they are on the dark side, maybe push the ISO a bit more

maybe shoot them with some fill flash and remember to pre-focus

Which camera and lens did you use? I'm sorry to say, but even your best ones out of 200 are not good at all. They have both focus, exposure problem and they are basically blended with the background. Perhaps, you should have shot from the opposite side? For this kind of sports action, you need a fast lens. With either wide open or 1 stop-down will give you much better exposure and separate the subject from the background.

Keep trying though.
