Eagles vs Redskins

Got the chance to go to the eagles vs redskins game on sunday and it was my first time every shooting at an NFL game and here are some of the results, I was in the stands in the eagles endzone 5 rows up from the field. All shots were taken with my 70-200 and 1.4x tc. I'm hoping to go back in three weeks when they take on the detroit lions but, thinking about renting a 100-400 for that game. Anyway let me know what you think of the shots, thanks!

looks like you had good seats. A 100-400 on a 60D would get you sharper shots but that lens is larger and heavier. I suppose if they allowed the 70-200 they would also allow a 100-400

Security wasn't to crazy about me bringing in my 70-200 but, they ended up letting me in. Their policy is that it's allowed as long as it fits in a one gallon zip lock bag or the nfl approved clear hand bags which are 12x12x6 so hoping I won't have any issues with a 100-400 if I get one of the approved bags.

On the technical side, all images look a bit dark on my monitor and could benefit from a boost in exposure in post. Straighten your horizons...football is played on a level field not a tilted one. I am glad to see your are cropping tight but try and keep standard crop ratios or dimensions eg 4x6 or 8x10, THEN pull in as tight as possible but remembering other graphic rules. Crops like your very first image and very last image are not the greatest looking.

Measure the length -- I think you'll find the 100-400 collapses to a size shorter than the 70-200 ... check it out.

This is a great illustration of the start and intensification of a snow storm.
(Not that I have ever seen one.:cry

I hope the Superbowl have those conditions.
