Hi,

Hopefully one of you techies or someone with experience can answer my question.

I have the Canon SX10IS with firmware 1.01A on it. In the zip file for the service manual I downloaded, there were a couple of firmware updates (1.02A and 1.03A).

The readme file said 1.03A was for 1.03. The same thing for the 1.02A.

Are firmware upgrades inclusive of previous firmware versions?
Can I upgrade to any of these versions?
Would I have to upgrade to 1.02A then 1.03A or just go to 1.03A?

Thanks in advance...
Al

Does the manual include directions for upgrading the firmware? Because Canon isn't offering any upgrades on their site that I can see. I suspect that the 1.03A only addresses issues with, and requires the existence of, Firmware 1.03; 1.02A wouldn't be a suitable base.

I got a response from Canon and they said they aren't their upgrade files, so not going to take a chance on it.

Where are you getting this "firmware upgrade" if it isn't from Canon?

It came with the service manual I bought. Comes with 1.00, 1.01A, 1.02B and 1.03A versions. Also came with 4 service bulletins in PDF format.
