I received an email this morning from the Agora Gallery, a fine art gallery in New York. Anyone know anything about them? They want to send me some information about promotional services I may be interested in. I'm thinking spam but I've had a look and they appear to be a genuine gallery.

Here's my gear: Canon 1100D, 18-55mm kit lens, Canon 50mm 1.8, Sigma 10-20mm, Canon 55-250mm, Speedlite 430EX flashgun

That's true. Spam's probably the wrong word to use. More that I thought it might be something shady. New York galleries don't randomly want to exhibit unknown photographers do they?

possibility they are new, and just like a well established gallery doesn't want no name artists so to speak, established artists don't want a no name gallery. They may be looking for items to put in a new gallery to get going and get new business. I think it would be worth finding out what they want and go from there.

It very well be junk mail sent to anyone with a photog site, but it may not be. I think it is worth seeing if it is a real opportunity

I was in this situation with my website last year, the Festivals of Speed contacted me to media coverage, and I followed up with them, next week I am going to Orlando to do Just that. I usually would brush it off but I am glad I didn't
