Don't panic Granny... this is a test, but don't try this at home.

A thought to ponder...

Even if your airbags save your life...

Fire will always get you.

Looks like they test on a damaged car.
Not a lot of damage to it , but it's had a shunt up the rear.

Cousin says hello,

Thanks for all your questions folks. The vehicle is new and not damaged at all. This one is a demonstrator and was donated by the dealership for the testing.

Various techniques are used by the bad boys and girls of society (not everyone can be perfect like Cousin) to get rid of their vehicle and claim insurance money. This test was shown to many folks in the business to show the effects of fire upon a vehicle. Showing the speed of destruction in relation to where the accellerant was placed. ie: inside the vehicle, pouring gasoline down inside the wiper blade wells, boot/trunk and setting off a road flare etc.

The purpose of this exercise is to determine the probability of the fire being an accident, or deliberate.

Cousin took along his marshmallows and toasted them whilst he was enjoying the show...

I will post some more under the heading "More vehicle fires".

Thanks to all who commented, ye warmed up yer Cousins heart to see ye all here.

Not a pyro Cousin.
