is the clamp replaceable on that tilt head -- could you install a RRS or kirk QR instead?

Yes. The Sirui uses a larger screw than RRS(not sure about Kirk) so it's not a direct swap.

I actually would like to use the RRS quick release clamp on mine but since it would cost almost as much as the RRS head w/ clamp(Sirui head + RRS clamp) I think I'd be better off just replacing the whole thing.

Thanks for all the tips, the Kirk plate is looking like a winner, just bought a 5D3 though so it will have to wait until next month.....otherwise my wife will murder me.

I have a Manfrotto monopod tilt head with a Kirk Arca-Swiss compatible QR plate attached that I use on my Induro CF monopod. B&H used to sell the two items together as a kit -- not sure if they still do.

Yes it is but the supplied clamp is Arca compatible. Mine is the earlier version with a lever clamp, which wasn't up to much, the current version has a screw type clamp secured with a countersunk 8mm bolt. If necessary you can secure a different clamp with a countersunk 6mm bolt + nut and a washer - not as neat but it works for me!

Since you have a Kirk foot I am guessing you can get Kirk products in the UK?
How about this:

They are also available through Adorama and B&H if they ship to the UK.

We do indeed - we ship to over 200 countries across the globe!
