1D Mark IV Used Cost?

1dmk4 for $1600-$1950, something must be broken IMHO. Rarely I see something below $3000. But then I never buy on eBay.

Well I checked the feedback afterward for three of them and the feedback is very positive. None of the listings stated any problems with the camera. I can't believe the 1D IV would go for over $3000. I guess some people are willing to pay that.

Are you talking AUS $ or US $? Look around here on POTN, or Adorama or B&H or Amazon or KEH. You won't find 1D MkIVs going for less than $3000 USD. Maybe some on eBay will sell for less, but there is a risk in buying from eBay that "some folks" aren't willing to take. I've been watching 1D MkIV sales for months and I have yet to see one in decent shape for less than $3000. That said, I don't check eBay.

Aus $. So $1626aud right now equals $1491usd.

I'd say the average for a MKIV is right around $3000, in excellent shape with under 50K shutters actuations. Anything else thats probably cheaper is either probably beat, or possibly grey market.
I saw one on FM that had around 7K on the shutter, and looked like it was brand new for $3400.
Anything less than $2500, and wouldn't want to count on that camera, but some people might. But hey more power to you, If you can get it that cheap.

I buy almost everything off of ebay and have only had a problem three times, all of which were <$20 items (that's out of ~300 items I've purchased, mostly used). Never had any trouble with used cameras or lenses etc. I wouldn't pay over $2000 for a 1D IV considering its specs and performance and what it's going rate is from what I've seen on ebay. I just can't see how the 1D IV is worth $1500+ more than a 1D III (according to the apparent going rates other than ebay au). The 1DIV is no doubt a great camera and anyone should be happy to own one.
