I don't sell a lot on Ebay. I sold my 70-200L is 2.8 markII this week on ebay. Apparently, my thread here attracted little attentions with my asking price $1850. I guessed everyone was expecting to pick one up around $1600. Hahahah... Anyway....the funds, according to Ebay, are supposed to be available in my PayPal account as of today. Not yet. The lens was delivered with tracking information. I haven't heard anything from the buyer even though I emailed him about leaving me a feedback. How long I have to wait to get my money?? Is the "date" accurate?

One of the major craps people are complaining about. It means in the ideal situation with all the stars and planets are aligned correctly, your funds should be available. However, in most cases, if Ebay is feeling moody, the funds aren't available in a timely manner. The word discretion comes to mind. :)

If you haven't sold anything for over 90 days, they can hold your funds. If you don't enough sales records, they can hold your funds. If the dollars amount is too high (can't confirm it), they can hold your funds. Back in April, I sold my Mamiya C330 kit. I was surprised that they didn't hold my funds. The sales was only $400. Now with my 70-200L sales, they are holding my funds as least until tomorrow, supposedly. I was a member for 10 years too. That didn't mean anything to Ebay.

It's based on the amount of sales you have. I have been on eBay since 2005, same user name, feedback score of 71 (100%) and I have only sold about 20-30 items. Since eBay considers this low, they will hold funds until your seller status is "established" (who knows when that is?). On one of my sales, I didn't see funds for 5 days after it said I should have. Give it a couple more days.

With big money items I think they hold it right? Call them up, they'll release it to you if it's by the date already.

They held mine on a $50 Canon 28-80mm I sold on there, so it's regardless of price.

I've never had that issue but it doesn't surprise me. I use ebay only because for some things its it's the best way to go and certainly not out of any sense of loyalty.

my buddy e-mailed me yesterday and said his seller account was terminated indefinitely and he could not open another account. oh, they were willing to let him keep buying but just not sell. he had 100% feedback with straight 5s for about 1400 transactions.

he sold a watch that was made by breitling for another brand and I guess ebay has a problems with fake breitlings so they took exception with the wording of his auction and terminated his seller's account. he even called and talked to a couple of people and they said there was nothing they could do.

of coursed he opened another account under his wife's name but all that history and money he made for ebay over the years was just flushed down the toilet in an instance.

the rap on ebay used to be they favored the seller but that certainly isn't the case anymore.

rant off.

They definitely have no favor at all for sellers. I recently had three people not pay for items I sold...and I was unable to leave them negative feedback.

Pretty sure they held yours because you had the trial period when you're new to selling:

http://pages.ebay.com …ts/fundsavailability.html (external link)

These are the most common reasons your funds would be unavailable for a period of time:

You're a new seller or have limited selling history, which means you have not yet met all of the following criteria:
It's been more than 90 days since your first successful sale
You've made more than 25 sales transactions
You've had more than $250 in total sales

After that they haven't held anything I've sold, I only sell $500 and less though.

Yeah, I think I might have like 24 sales lol. First time I sold on eBay was in 2006 and I have sold items over $250, successfully.
