Evening all :)

This weekend I was mostly at a bloody cold airfield in York with some good friends of mine, for an airfield day

Much petrol and sidways based fun was had.

I took some crap photos:
Clicky, like you know you should (external link)

The lack of number/quality is due ot the fact that I only have one 512mb card, I shoot in RAW all the time so I can rescue screwed pictures ;) and all my laptop/card reader stuff was locked in the boot of the white teg pictured - and the owner was constantly on track getting p-rides, etc. Hence I gave up hanging around for him, and just blagged some rides.

The rat Metro shown there is not normal - it has a Jenvey throttle bodied 1.8 K-series under the bonnet, pushes 150bhp, scares Impreza and Evo owners up to 100mph and shoots two foot flames on the overrun. And yes, those are LED indicators in the wing mirrors - the owner has a sick sense of humour ;)

My favourite picture of the day was this:

Byte size: ZERO | Content warning: NOT AN IMAGE

Nothing special, its just that straight after taking that pic, it did this:

Byte size: ZERO | Content warning: NOT AN IMAGE

And continued to do so every time but I didn't get any more pics as I had filled the CF card up....d'oh.

Anyway, crap pics aside I had a top time, so enjoy :)

PS: I know there are spots on all those pics - going to investigate why some other time...

the 2nd picture could use some brightness/contrast corrections.

Good start! "I know there are spots on all those pics - going to investigate why some other time..." is dust on the sensor that only shows up at small f-stops.

FrankC is correct - it doesnt show up any time, and if the EXIF is there [don't thin kit is - gutted] I think I was shoting at F22ish on Tv to get 1/90th sec.

You think that second picture is bad? My first 30 were all horribly underexposed because I had forgotton that I had set the EC for something else, and put the darkness of the image on the viewfinder down to it being reeeaaally lovely crisp winter sunshine :)

Yeah, the second pic needs work - two mins....

Bit sharper and contrastier now.

The E30 was fantastic - it belongs to a mate, Matt.

I was expecting it to feel a bit sloppy and saloon like, but to be honest the balance of it, and the way it responded, it was more like a big caterham, with more grip. Impressive turn of speed from 200ish Bhp also - sounds good, rorty.

Turns in very well, responds excellently to steering on the throttle, and the only thing that prevented Matt from pulling off a perfect, 150ft slide on the back straight was the surface change from grippy, high quality concrete, to Mr By-Rite crappy tar. So he parked it sideways inside the cone. Definitely not a spin...

HOwever I cannot impart how much this metro impressed me:

Every time you hear a farting, bapping noise, I can assure you the exhaust is popping a flame or six.

Mental.

Hey up chaps

Good to see Steven using this place after I recommended it to him. The E30 M3 is mine. I've had it about 6 weeks and I am very happy with it.
