The lens creep on that thing is so bad when putting it back in the camera bag face down that I just want rid of it.. Anyone else had this ?? EOS 5Dmk3 X2, 60D, EF24-70mm f2.8L mk2, EF70-200mm f2.8L IS mk2, EF85mm f1.8, EF50mm f1.4, EF50mm f1.8 mk1(350D with 18-55mm Sh"kit" lens).

It made me forget about the dust inside the lens. Actually, these issues pissed me off as well. Then I did an IQ test between the 17-55mm at 55mm vs the 60mm 2.8. The 60mm blew the zoom out of the water, so I sold the zoom and moved on.

I used to own an EFS 18-200 and hated the creep so much so that I sold it after a couple of months... Yes I know I could lock it a 18mm, but I don't want to constantly lock/unlock it, or sometimes I want to "lock" it at maybe 200mm. Strangely I have never had any zoom creep on the 18-55 or 55-250 lenses, and these are the cheapest zooms Canon sells. Also owned a Tamron 17-50 f/2.8 and that never creeped either. The 18-55 and 55-250 have more friction due to the fact that the zoom system is tied into the AF - the barrel moves during focus. Also, the lenses have very light elements. Cameras: 7D2, S100
