I don't use PhotoShop but I've known that I'll inevitably need to learn it sooner or later. Adobe's current $9.99/mo PhotoShop CC promotion is too good to pass up, so now is the time to learn it.

I've been looking for training resources and stumbled across this Kelby book that's due out next month. It's exactly what I'm looking for - I still intend to use Lightroom for all of my organizing and the majority of my editing, I only want to use PhotoShop for the things Lightroom can't do so I deliberately want to focus my learning on just those things. This book looks perfect for that, so I figured I'd share.

Kelby is good for "hands-on" training, although his attempts a humor turn a lot of people off! But I definitely think it's a good book for "starters"!

Also, some of the comprehensive Lightroom books have good "intros" to using Photoshop as an "add-on" to the Lightroom workflow, and I definitely recommend them. The Lightroom books by Kelby and Martin Evening are both good, as is "The Digital Negative" by Jeff Schewe, which covers the Raw workflow via both Lightroom and Adobe Camera Raw (ACR)!

I bought (and still have) Kelby's book for Lr3. Prior to that I had read his books on Digital Photography (vols 1-3). As Tony mentioned, it took a number of chapters before I got a 'sense' of his humor (which to me was really just more unexpected than anything). Nonetheless, I've got plenty of Kelby material and I wouldn't have continued to buy it if it wasn't for the good information.

Yeah, I bought Kelby's "Version 1" Lightroom book and am glad I did, and have also worked with some of his Photoshop tutorials, again, glad I did!

There are so many good resources out there! Two excellent ones, by the way, are Lynda.com and KelbyTraining.com, but then there are so many others, Luminous Landscapes and SLRLounge, and the list goes on!!!
