I went to BH photo to buy the autopoles kit but it appears it has been discontinued... :( Furthermore, there seems to be a cheaper alternative now, made by Impact. Is Impact simply crushing the competition?

Interesting. I've had the Manfrotto kit for a couple of years. It would be interesting to see the quality difference between the Manfrotto and the Impact.

How much did you pay out of curiosity?

Weird because I'm seeing them as in stock. Maybe they don't cater to Canadians like you. ;) :D

Weird!!! I just refreshed the page and now I see it too! Bizarre... Looks like I will be ordering the impact set for half the price. I will let you all know what I think about the quality.
