This photo was taken a fews year back. I do winter camping in Algonquin Park, and the wildlife does not go away in the winter. This shot is of a couple of moose, we were heading home along Hwy 60. We had a snow storm that day in which a 3.5 hr. drive took 7hrs..well worth the trip..Also not shot with a Canon....pre Canon days..

Great shot Dan, I like to spend as much time as I can in the park. I heard that moose have been seen along the corridor this last month. Were you one of the ones camping in Mew on family day last year?
It was -27 that day, colder at night, but it was a blast, great day all round. The bird's will be picking up now and the photo opportunity's will be hi.

Lol it is great fun in Algonquin in the winter. The draw for the Friend's of Algonquin Park was last sunday, I did not win my canoe it was hanging in the Visiters Centre and canoe's are no good in the winter!!

I have never stayed in a Yurt I'm so close I just always run back home.

Dan have you ever gone up on family day. This will be the third year and its only getting better. It's a blast. last year was -27 all day but sunny. My wife and I stayed till after the Wolf Howl ( like 10pm )
There were pop up trailer's and all set-up. Im never sure talking to someone like your self if we have not stood side by side shooting critter's in the park??

Yes winter is great in the park, the yurt is a hoot with campfire and all the wildlife. I do all four seasons in Algonquin. I haven't done family day yet, as we are gone for Winterlude in Ottawa. As for shooting critters side by side you never know....
