Hello All
I am thinking of adding a 512GB SSD drive to my Mac Pro 1.1 (dual core) computer. Has anyone added SSD to their Mac Pro 1.1? If so which SSD do you have and what's the experience like?

I added a small ssd a couple years ago for OS and apps. Really gave it new life. I actually had it held in place with zip ties for a while but put in an icy dock about a year ago. 5D2 - 24-70 f2.8L - 50 1.4 - S100

Very like a quad core i7 mini or iMac will give you more performance. Naturally the base config of the new Mac Pro would be a huge leap up also. I guess we will see firm pricing for the new pro configurations in December. Maybe Apple will have a Black Friday special on the new Pro. Now that would be sweet!!!!!

If you are concerned about such things, you may want to get an SSD that doesn't rely on the OS to provide Trim support. OWC SSDs are Sandforce driven, and supposedly avoid these issues. If in fact, they are issues. ***************

If so I can purchase both at the same time.

You can do that by adding this I ended up ordering Crucial M500 480GB
